Sony has released the IER-M500 in-ear monitor earphones aimed at professional stage use. The new model emphasizes comfort and noise isolation for musicians and sound technicians. Pre-sale started on July 9 with a suggested retail price of $120.
The IER-M500 earphones feature four noise-isolating eartip options and Sony's ear fit supporters to keep them secure during active performances. A fully sealed structure and large acoustic chamber provide effective noise isolation required in stage environments.
This marks Sony's first new high-end IEMs in some time. The release joins the company's professional lineup that includes the MDR-M1 studio headphones introduced in 2024.
Color options include clear, black, and red and blue. The product is positioned for extended wear without discomfort, according to the company's press materials.
