MegaCrit released beta patch v0.109.0 for Slay the Spire 2 on July 17. The update includes new relics, balance changes, and card adjustments that players have already begun to exploit.
The patch introduced two new Neow relics. Neow’s Sacrifice adds a Guilty curse to the deck while granting an Ambergris potion that restores 50 percent of max HP and provides an extra turn. Dowsing Rod adds an unplayable Dowsing card that transforms into the Abundance skill after five event rooms.
Several cards received buffs and nerfs. Silent’s Well-Laid Plans changed from an uncommon to a rare card that now retains all cards for the rest of the fight instead of up to two per turn. Ironclad’s Dominate moved to rare status, and Regent’s Pillar of Creation now grants 5 block once per turn when creating a card.
Enemy adjustments affected Act 3 bosses. Aeonglass received damage nerfs, while the Torchhead Amalgam minion in the Queen boss fight gained increased first-turn damage.
The most discussed change involves Necromancer’s Eidolon, which now plays all Ethereal cards in the exhaust pile. Players have identified infinite scaling loops with The Scythe and interactions that allow multiple Eidolons to trigger each other repeatedly.
