Sling TV increases prices for blue package with local channels

Sling TV has raised prices for its Blue package subscribers who receive local channels, adding $4 or $9 monthly depending on the number of stations. The increase affects access to ABC, Fox, and NBC affiliates. Existing customers will see the change starting February 20.

Sling TV, recognized as a top budget streaming option, has implemented a price hike for its Blue package in 2026. This adjustment targets users who subscribe to Blue and have access to at least one local ABC, Fox, or NBC station, based on their location. Previously, the Blue plan cost $46 per month, with an additional $5 for the full set of three local channels. Under the new pricing, subscribers with all three locals now pay $9 extra, while those with one or two stations face a $4 increase. The Select package, which starts at $20 without locals, remains unchanged at $25 for one or two channels and $30 for three. New customers encounter these rates immediately, while existing ones will transition on or after February 20. Users can verify local channel availability on Sling's website. In an announcement, Sling explained the rationale: 'The cost we pay to local broadcast networks in order to provide you with the programming you count on continues to rise significantly -- well above the price of inflation.' This move follows Sling's prior rate adjustment and aligns with broader trends in streaming services facing escalating content costs.
