Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Germie Bernard has been ranked No. 22 on a list of rookies expected to make the biggest impact in the 2026 NFL season.
Sports Illustrated’s Justin Melo placed Bernard on the list, noting his route-running skills. Melo wrote that Bernard was the savviest route runner in the receiver class and will work underneath coverage while DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. handle vertical routes.
Bernard, the only Steelers rookie on the list, was drafted in the second round. He is set to compete with Roman Wilson for the slot receiver job during training camp, where both players have trained together this offseason.
The Steelers traded for Michael Pittman Jr. and added Bernard to bolster a receiver room ahead of Aaron Rodgers’ final season. The team aims to repeat as AFC North champions in 2026.
