A poll by El Financiero indicates that Mexican fans see France and the national team as the top candidates to win the 2026 World Cup.
The survey conducted from June 21 to 28 gives France 13 percent of mentions and Mexico 12 percent. Argentina and Brazil each received 9 percent while Spain recorded 5 percent.
Interest in the tournament rose from 36 to 40 percent. Favorable opinions on the organization increased from 38 to 51 percent and positive ratings of the atmosphere reached 70 percent.
54 percent of respondents said they had watched matches. The telephone poll of 600 adults has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.
