Sweden secured a convincing win after opening world championship losses to the Czech Republic and Canada. Jacob de la Rose scored the 2-0 goal late in the first period and made it 3-0 in the second, both times assisted by Linus Karlsson.
The match took place at BCF Arena in Fribourg where de la Rose plays for Fribourg-Gottéron. He described it as exciting to play the world championship on home ice.
Anton Frondell made his world championship debut and recorded two assists. Sweden has three group stage matches left against Italy, Norway and Slovakia.
