A Bleacher Report analysis has placed Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt's contract at number five on a list of the NFL's 10 worst deals heading into the 2026 season.
The ranking follows Watt's three-year, $123 million extension signed before the 2025 season. His production declined that year to seven sacks after 11.5 in 2024 and 19 in 2023, amid injury.
Brad Gagnon wrote for Bleacher Report that a decline is well underway. The contract could still cost the Steelers $94 million in salary and dead-cap charges for two seasons even if they move on after 2027.
The team has also committed to edge rushers Nick Herbig and Alex Highsmith. Watt is expected to seek a bounce-back performance in 2026 under new coaches and may shift positions more often on defense.
Other players on the list include San Francisco's Nick Bosa and Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson, who ranks first.
