Teemu Turunen has terminated his contract with Örebro in the SHL for private reasons. The forward will return to Finland ahead of the next season.
The move ends Turunen's time with the club after just one year. He joined Örebro on a two-year deal from Kärpät before the previous season and recorded 14 points in 29 regular-season games.
Örebro confirmed the early termination on July 25. Club official Henrik Löwdahl said the decision followed a meeting last week and prioritised family needs.
Löwdahl noted that both the player and team had high expectations for the coming season after an injury-affected year. The club thanked Turunen for his contributions and wished him well.
