Tesla is developing a feature that allows drivers to use natural language voice commands with its Full Self-Driving software. The system will let users provide specific contextual instructions, such as directing the vehicle to a particular driveway or house.
Tesla Vice President of AI Ashok Elluswamy confirmed the work on X. He responded to a user suggestion by stating he is “Working on it.”
The feature addresses limitations in current mapping systems, where pins often fail to match exact locations in residential areas. Drivers could tell the car details like “the white house on the left, just past that SUV,” and the vehicle would remember the preference for future trips.
Elon Musk confirmed that Grok voice commands will integrate with FSD’s planning layer by September 2026. This builds on Grok’s presence in vehicles since July 2025.
The update follows recent FSD Supervised v14 changes that improved routing and arrival options.
