President Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with NBC News anchor Kristen Welker on Sunday's Meet the Press after clashing over claims of election fraud in California.
The interview was taped Friday in a barn at Custer Farms in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Rain repeatedly interrupted the taping on the metal roof. Trump defended the ongoing war with Iran, which began Feb. 28, saying it was not an endless conflict. He stated he had not guaranteed no new wars during his 2024 campaign. He also defended a now-scrapped $1.776 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund proposed by his Justice Department. Trump repeated claims of fraud in California's June 2 primary vote count without providing evidence. Tensions rose when Welker pressed for proof of the fraud claims and asked about potential payouts from the fund to Jan. 6 participants. Trump called Welker and the press crooked before saying 'Let's call it quits' and walking out after about 50 minutes.
