US 25% tariffs threaten Brazilian wood exports

Brazilian processed wood companies face production cuts and possible layoffs due to 25% US tariffs, with no alternative plan in place.

According to ABIMCI, 40% of Brazil's national processed wood production is destined for the United States. In 2025, Brazil exported about US$ 1.2 billion in processed wood to the US market.

Solida CEO Daniel Wojski said 70% of the company's revenue depends on US sales. He mentioned adjusting production pace if the tariff remains for a prolonged period and seeking new markets, although products are tailored to American specifications.

ABIMCI superintendent Paulo Pupo said nearly 100% of wooden frame production is made to order for US civil construction. He warned that jobs are threatened and that the measure has more political than technical character.
