USM Alger claimed the CAF Confederation Cup title for the second time after defeating Zamalek in a penalty shootout that went to 17 kicks in Cairo, overturning a first-leg deficit.
USM Alger arrived in Egypt with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg in Algiers. Zamalek responded quickly in the return match, taking the lead after five minutes through a penalty converted by Dabbagh. The contest remained tight before proceeding to a lengthy shootout where both teams converted their first 16 attempts. Glody Likonza scored the decisive 17th penalty to secure the trophy.
