Following the fiery car crash on December 21, 2025, that killed gaming pioneer Vince Zampella in Los Angeles' San Gabriel Mountains, tributes from industry leaders highlight the 55-year-old's legacy as co-creator of Call of Duty, founder of Respawn Entertainment, and head of Battlefield. Survived by three children, Zampella's influence on franchises like Titanfall and Apex Legends is widely mourned.
