Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic arrived in Beijing on Sunday for his first state visit, meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping and signing over 20 deals.
On Monday, Xi Jinping met Vucic at the Great Hall of the People and hailed the “ironclad friendship” between the two countries rooted in history and reality. He said both sides should continue to firmly support each other.
The two sides signed over 20 deals covering cooperation in politics, trade, tech, education, cultural exchanges and artificial intelligence. The joint statement said both sides will continue to conduct joint police patrols and joint training for special forces.
Vucic’s visit runs through Thursday. He had described the trip as “undoubtedly the most important trip abroad” in his political career. The visit follows Xi’s state visit to Serbia in May 2024.
