Yordan Alvarez hit a grand slam to lead the Houston Astros to a 13-2 victory over the Athletics on Saturday at Daikin Park.
Alvarez finished 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. His second-inning blast was the Astros' first grand slam of the season and the fifth of his career. The homer moved Alvarez into the American League lead in home runs with 22 and RBIs with 48. He also ranks second in the league in batting average at .316. Jose Altuve hit his 260th career homer, and LaMonte Wade Jr. added his first homer with Houston. The Astros scored five runs in the third inning and six in the fifth.
