His daughters Emily Head and Daisy Head confirmed the news. They described it as an honor to be his daughters and noted the impact of his work on fans and colleagues. They said he loved his job and considered himself lucky. Gellar posted on Instagram with photos from the series. She quoted a line from Buffy: 'Tell Giles I figured it out and I’m ok.' She added that she does not have it figured out and is not ok but feels lucky to have known him. She thanked his daughters for sharing their father with her and the world. Other Buffy cast members also paid tribute. James Marsters called him the best actor in the cast and an unflaggingly kind presence. Emma Caulfield recalled their 27-year friendship. David Boreanaz described him as kind and generous. Head also appeared in Ted Lasso as Rupert Mannion and had roles in other shows and films.
