Apple TV has renewed the horror-comedy series Widow's Bay for a second season. The show stars Matthew Rhys as the mayor of a struggling island community.
Apple TV renewed Widow's Bay for Season 2, as first reported by TVLine. The series follows Mayor Tom Loftis, played by Rhys, who aims to revive his island as a tourist spot despite local superstitions about a curse.
Matt Cherniss, Apple TV's head of programming, said the show has become one that everyone is talking about. Creator Katie Dippold added that Season 2 will focus on how everything is great on the island and there is nothing to worry about.
The cast includes Kate O'Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, and Dale Dickey. Hiro Murai directs several episodes, with additional direction from Ti West, Sam Donovan, and Andrew DeYoung.
