Banco de Bogotá enables QR codes for Bre-B keys

Banco de Bogotá launched a new feature allowing customers to generate QR codes linked to their Bre-B keys for secure and simple payments. The tool is available to individuals, freelancers, and businesses from any bank or digital wallet. It aims to enable real-time collections without POS devices.

Banco de Bogotá expanded its digital payment services by enabling QR codes linked to personal Bre-B keys. Customers can generate these codes via the bank's app or website on mobile or computer, either printing them or sharing via SMS, WhatsApp, or social media.

Key features include QR codes with specific amounts to prevent errors in keys or sums, and instant, free payments from any institution. Businesses can link multiple keys such as MID, NIT, email, phone, or alphanumeric ones, enhancing management options.

"The integration of QR codes and multiple keys expands the ecosystem's capabilities with solutions tailored to different usage dynamics, from small daily collections to business schemes needing greater payment administration flexibility," stated Jorge Castaño, corporate vice president of financial assets and efficiency at AVAL and interim president of Banco de Bogotá.

The bank has 4.8 million registered keys from natural persons, receiving around 1.3 million monthly transfers, highlighting the tool's potential to boost digital payments in Colombia.
