The British Equestrian Federation has announced its shortlist of 11 riders and 15 horses for the 2026 World Championships in Aachen. The final team of five combinations will be confirmed later in July. Several Olympic and European medalists feature among the selections.
The shortlist draws from riders who contributed to recent successes, including the silver medal at the 2025 European Championships. Scott Brash and Hello Folie are included, alongside other combinations aiming to secure Olympic qualification for Los Angeles in 2028.
Selection criteria emphasize recent results in five-star events such as Nations Cups and Grands Prix. The panel, led by Chef d'Equipe Di Lampard, will finalize the squad following a meeting around 16 July, with submissions due to the FEI by 23 July.
Named riders include Ben Maher with three horses, Harry Charles, Jessica Mendoza, Matt Sampson, Joe Stockdale, Sienna Charles, Adrian Whiteway, Jack Whitaker, Jodie Hall McAteer and Tim Gredley. Fitness and performance will determine the final choices.
