Carl Hester achieved strong results at the Wellington CDI with two horses. He won both the Grand Prix and Freestyle aboard Fame. His new mount Monet X also claimed victory in its Grand Prix debut.
Carl Hester secured wins in the Grand Prix and Freestyle classes at the Wellington CDI with the 16-year-old stallion Fame. The pair posted scores within 0.2 percent of Fame's personal bests from the 2023 Riesenbeck Europeans. Hester's newer horse, the nine-year-old gelding Monet X, made its Grand Prix debut at the same event and won with a score of 74.09 percent. Hester described both horses as top quality and noted the partnership with Monet X is beginning to gel. Hester said Fame feels better than ever and remains consistent. He plans one more competition for the season at Hartpury before the World Championships.
