The CBF presented on Tuesday the goals for the Brazilian men's national team in the cycle until the 2030 World Cup, including winning the 2028 Copa América and topping the qualifiers.
The Brazilian Football Confederation held a review meeting at its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, attended by vice presidents, directors and presidents of state federations. President Samir Xaud reaffirmed disappointment with the round-of-16 elimination at the 2026 World Cup after a 2-1 loss to Norway.
The defined objectives include winning the 2028 Copa América, whose host has not yet been announced, and claiming the South American qualifiers title for the 2030 World Cup. Xaud highlighted integration between youth categories, with 23 of the 26 players called up for this year's tournament having passed through base teams.
The entity plans to maintain the technical commission led by Carlo Ancelotti and will shift focus to preparing the women's national team ahead of the 2027 Women's World Cup, which Brazil will host. "We turned a page and now we return the focus to the Women's World Cup, in addition to the cycle for 2030," Xaud said.
