The governor of Valle del Cauca and the national registrar reiterated calls for calm and respect for the results of the June 21 elections.
Governor Dilian Francisca Toro called on citizens, political sectors and social organizations in Valle del Cauca to respect the results of the presidential runoff and preserve public order. She stated that acts of violence or vandalism will not be tolerated and that those who disrupt coexistence will face legal action.
National registrar Hernán Penagos said the Registraduría is prepared to guarantee the integrity of the process. He urged candidates Iván Cepeda and Abelardo de la Espriella to respect the results and avoid spreading false information.
The National Electoral Council announced that campaigns may accredit up to two witnesses per voting table and per scrutiny commission. It also implemented the 'Comitium en Línea' app to document irregularities in real time. Political organizations have until June 18 to register their electoral actors.
