The sealing covers notes, reports, photos, medical records, and details from Medical Examiner cases 2025-19480 and 2025-19481, halting public releases until further notice. The cause of death—multiple sharp force injuries by knife—had been disclosed on December 17 before the hold. The couple's remains were cremated five days after discovery.
The LAPD cited the need to secure evidence ahead of Nick Reiner's January 7 hearing, emphasizing it does not compromise long-term transparency. Sources indicate the attacks occurred in the master bedroom. Prosecutors are consulting the family, including siblings Romy, Jake, and adopted sister Tracy, on pursuing the death penalty or life without parole. Defense attorney Alan Jackson has not commented.
