Building on its surge past Rs 750 crore worldwide and all-time top 10 entry, Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar cemented blockbuster status with a massive opening Friday on December 27, 2025. Defying conventions by skipping a star heroine, running 3.5 hours, earning an adults-only rating, and featuring gore, the film drew huge audiences, signaling shifts in Indian cinema.

Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh alongside Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, was produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Despite bucking industry standards, its explosive opening day collections proved content can trump tropes.
