Dying Light: The Beast launches update 1.4 with New Game+ and more

Techland has released update 1.4 for Dying Light: The Beast on November 27, 2025, introducing New Game+ mode, Legend Levels, ray tracing, and hundreds of fixes based on community feedback. The free update enhances replayability and visuals for PS5 players and others. Additional events include double XP until November 30 and an exclusive Bloody Bowie Knife available until December 2.

Update Overview

Update 1.4, known as version 1.004 on consoles, brings significant enhancements to Dying Light: The Beast, an action survival game developed by Techland. Released on November 27, 2025, the patch addresses player requests with new progression systems and quality-of-life improvements, making the Castor Woods adventure more engaging and polished.

New Features

New Game+ allows players to replay Kyle's story while retaining gear, weapons, and progression. Each subsequent run increases difficulty, offering higher-tier loot and tougher enemies. Legend Levels extend endgame progression beyond level 15, converting XP into points for passive upgrades like increased health and better combat stats. This system unlocks 22 new weapons, two complete outfits (12 gear pieces), and legendary vehicle skins. Ray tracing has been added for realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections, enabled via Ultra preset in settings, requiring compatible hardware like NVIDIA RTX or AMD RX 6000/7000 series with at least 8 GB VRAM. Three new finishers expand combat variety for blunt and slasher weapons.

Fixes and Improvements

The update resolves over 200 parkour and navigation issues, including climbing problems, zipline prompts, and blocked routes. Graphical fixes cover more than 70 issues, such as textures, clipping, and lighting. Performance enhancements include stability improvements, V-Sync and VRR optimizations for lower latency, and stamina rebalancing for early-game encounters. UI updates make skill menus clearer, and audio fixes address missing effects and co-op synchronization. A rare weapon is now available near the first campsite to reward exploration.

Community Events

A double XP event runs until November 30, 2025. Players logging in before December 2 receive the Bloody Bowie Knife. Week 9 of Call of the Beast challenges players to perform finishers, with community goals unlocking the Gutsbuster car skin and Rascal rewards by December 4.
