Ela Minus and Nick León announce new collaborative EP

Longtime friends Ela Minus and Nick León will release their three-song EP Qué Les Pasó a Mis Amigos? on August 7. The lead single Espiral is available now.

The Colombian electronic musician and the Brooklyn-based producer co-produced the project, which features two tracks sung entirely in Spanish. It will come out via Domino imprint Smugglers Way.

Guedra Guedra and Brenda each remixed a song for the release, while Loidis reconfigured the title track. A 12-inch vinyl pressing including these versions is scheduled for November 20.

“It was so free,” León said of the recording process. “There were unspoken understandings of what we wanted to do. That’s not normal.” Minus added, “We immediately felt this kinship.”

The pair have collaborated before, including on remixes of tracks from their recent albums.
