Former Kiss guitarist Vinnie Vincent is offering his new solo album Guitarmageddon for $2 million. The price grants buyers master files and release rights, though Vincent retains approval over marketing. Individual tracks are available for $200,000 each.
Vinnie Vincent, who played guitar for Kiss from 1982 to 1984, has completed his first new album in 30 years, titled Guitarmageddon. He announced on his band's website, the Vinnie Vincent Invasion site, that “It’s been a long time in the making” and “I am very proud of this very special album.” Vincent contributed uncredited lead guitar to Kiss's 1982 album Creatures of the Night and officially joined for 1983's Lick It Up before leaving in 1984 to pursue a solo career. His previous release was the 1996 EP Euphoria, followed last year by CD singles of “Ride the Serpent” priced at $225 each—reduced from an original $300 to $200 amid economic concerns, per Vincent's Facebook comments: “If you like what I do, then support the artist... Consider yourself lucky that it’s only $200.” He had earlier described Guitarmageddon as “escapism on steroids” and warned it might remain unreleased without fan support. The $2 million package includes 10 mixed master songs, artwork masters, posters, and packaging art for vinyl or CD releases. Buyers may release the album in any format but must obtain Vincent's approval for marketing plans and receive no rights to his name or likeness. Single tracks, such as “Heavy Metal Poontang” or “Cockteazer,” cost $200,000 pro rata. Payments via PayPal are final, with a hard drive shipped within two weeks and possible four-week customs delay. The site notes few copies left.
