Four tourists injured by wave in Lanzarote pool

Two men and two women from Catalonia and France were injured on Monday after being swept away by a wave while bathing in a pool in southern Lanzarote. The incident took place in the Los Charcones area and is the second similar accident in the Canary Islands in the past week. None of the affected individuals is in serious condition.

On Monday, four tourists suffered minor injuries after being swept away by a wave in the Los Charcones area, in southern Lanzarote. The affected individuals are two men and two women from Catalonia and France, aged between 30 and 40 years. According to sources from the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, the bathers were in one of the pools formed next to the tide when a wave exceeded the pool's level and dragged them away.

The four managed to stay on the coast by their own means but presented bruises and sprains. One of the women was transferred to the Playa Blanca health center, while the other three were taken by ambulance to the José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife. None is in serious condition.

This incident follows a weekend marked by similar accidents in the Canary Islands. On Saturday, in Tenerife, a wave left three dead and fifteen injured. The Lanzarote accident highlights the risks of bathing in coastal pools during adverse sea conditions.
