The French team arrived in Boston on Wednesday afternoon to a festive welcome. They were greeted by fans outside their Four Seasons hotel before starting recovery.
The French national team landed at Boston’s international airport on Wednesday just before 4 p.m. after a seven-hour flight from Le Bourget. The players headed to their Four Seasons hotel in the city center, which they had already used during a March tour. Around 300 supporters, including French, American, Japanese and Chinese fans, waited for their arrival. The hotel management played Edith Piaf’s “La Foule.” Kylian Mbappé drew the loudest reactions and met Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. After a light stretching session led by Cyril Moine, the players had a group dinner. They then watched the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs featuring Victor Wembanyama. Training starts Thursday on the Bentley University pitch. France’s opening match is against Senegal on June 16 at MetLife Stadium.
