Gold and Silver Funds Reach 329000 Investors and EGP 9.35bn Assets

The Financial Regulatory Authority released its quarterly report showing growth in Egypt's precious metals investment funds through June 2026.

The Financial Regulatory Authority released its quarterly performance report on precious metals investment funds. Combined net assets of gold and silver funds rose to EGP 9.35bn in June 2026 from EGP 9.28bn at the end of March. The number of investors grew 14% to 329000 from 289000 over the same period.

Retail investors made up 71% of the total while institutional investors accounted for 29%. Among individual investors males represented 83% and females 17%. Investors aged 20 to 40 comprised more than 70% of the base.

Gold funds alone had 306500 investors and EGP 9.2bn in assets across seven funds. Egypt's first two silver funds launched in the second quarter of 2026 and gathered EGP 146.1m in assets from 22300 investors.

Islam Azzam Chairperson of the FRA said the results reflect growing investor confidence and the development of diversified investment instruments in Egypt's non-banking financial markets.
