Fans of Grand Theft Auto 6 have spent the past few days debating a small visual detail in new footage of Vice City. The discussion centers on a Ferris wheel that lacks a reflection on the water below. Rockstar Games shared the clip last week on its official website.
On June 18, Rockstar updated the Grand Theft Auto 6 site with a nighttime fly-through video of Vice City. The footage shows the city in detail, but close inspection revealed the Ferris wheel does not reflect on the water, unlike nearby objects.
Some players viewed the missing reflection as evidence the game remains unfinished. Others defended the choice by pointing to real-world photos of the actual Ferris wheel that inspired the in-game version, which also lacks a sharp reflection.
Digital Foundry analyzed the clip and concluded that neither ray tracing nor screen space reflections are set up to capture the Ferris wheel, with camera distance likely playing a role. In other GTA 6 footage, the wheel does appear with a reflection.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to arrive November 19 on PS5 and Xbox.
