New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes has undergone successful surgery on his finger following an injury. The procedure was performed in New York City, with an expected return to play in eight weeks.

The New Jersey Devils announced a medical update on center Jack Hughes' injury. Hughes underwent successful surgery on his finger, performed by Dr. Robert Hotchkiss at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

The team stated: “New Jersey Devils C Jack Hughes underwent successful surgery on his finger. The procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Hotchkiss at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The expected return to play timeline is eight weeks and he will be re-evaluated at the six-week mark.”

This non-hockey related hand injury occurred prior to the update, sidelining the key player for the foreseeable future. Hughes, a pivotal figure for the Devils, will miss at least the next eight weeks of action pending re-evaluation.
