Kim Gordon appeared on The Tonight Show on Wednesday to perform the title track from her 2026 album Play Me. She wore a New York Knicks jersey featuring Jalen Brunson during the appearance.
Gordon took the late-night stage clad in the Knicks jersey to showcase one of the strongest songs from the record. The performance comes ahead of the second leg of her tour supporting the album.
Play Me was released in March. Gordon collaborated again with Justin Raisen on the project and aimed for a more beat-oriented sound than her previous solo work.
She described the lyrics as influenced by current events, noting that society is in a post-empire era where people just disappear. Gordon added that she draws inspiration from rhythm and beats rather than traditional singing.
The musician is set to begin the next portion of her tour at Manhattan’s Night Club 101.
