The New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 105-104 in Game 2 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Friday night. They now lead the series 2-0 and will host the next two games at Madison Square Garden starting Monday.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks with 21 points and 13 rebounds while holding Victor Wembanyama in check. Towns averaged 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds through the first two games and is now favored at +185 odds to win Finals MVP. Mikal Bridges urged his team to remain focused after the win. 'Zero-zero. Stay desperate at all times,' he said in an on-court interview. Wembanyama finished with 29 points but committed a critical turnover with under 15 seconds left that led to the game-winning free throw by Jalen Brunson. The Spurs rallied from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter but fell short. The Knicks outscored their playoff opponents by 282 points this postseason, the best differential in NBA history. They are heavy favorites at -500 to win the championship.
