Landslide in Gansu kills 21 woodworkers

A landslide in Longnan, Gansu Province, killed 21 of 33 people caught in the disaster and injured seven others, most of them woodworkers buried on Tuesday.

Local government said at a press conference on Wednesday morning that everyone involved in the incident had been rescued.

Rescue parties continue searching for people trapped by floods in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. Alerts for strong winds and several days of rain have been issued elsewhere in the country.

The landslide struck Renzang Village, Nanhe Town, Tanchang County in Longnan City on Tuesday morning, trapping 33 people.
