Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts will make their first live appearance since October 2025 at this year's Farm Aid concert. The event is scheduled for September 26 at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The lineup also features Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, and Margo Price.
Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts have not performed live since the Painted Turtle benefit last October and canceled a planned European tour for this summer. Their return comes as part of the annual Farm Aid benefit, which supports family farmers. The concert will take place on September 26 at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater. Additional performers include Nathaniel Rateliff, Turnpike Troubadours, Lukas Nelson, and others. Ticket sales begin the same day. Willie Nelson, a co-founder of Farm Aid, said in a statement that the event aims to stand with farmers and fishers in the Hampton Roads area. The original Farm Aid concert was held in 1985, and last year's edition marked the 40th anniversary in Minneapolis. Young and the Chrome Hearts performed several songs at the 2025 show, some of which appear on their recent live album As Times Explodes. The band also has a new studio album, Second Song, expected later this year.
