Authorities in Neiva discovered five kilograms of marijuana hidden inside vehicle filters during an operation at a courier company. The find prevented the drugs from reaching the department of Putumayo.
The discovery took place on May 16 in courier warehouses in Neiva’s industrial zone. The narcotics detection dog Odhil marked two packages wrapped in black material that contained modified filters holding ten bags of marijuana.
The shipment originated in Cali and was headed to Puerto Asís in Putumayo. The operation was carried out by the Neiva Metropolitan Police with support from its canine unit.
Colonel Héctor Jairo Betancourt Rojas, commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police, praised the dog’s work and said controls will continue to stop drug shipments sent through courier services.
