PP and Vox approve Extremadura's first budgets of the term

PP and Vox approved the first budgets of the term on Wednesday in the Assembly of Extremadura. The accounts total 8,854 million euros and confirm the governing pact between the two parties.

The parliamentary session lasted more than 12 hours. Both formations rejected the 622 amendments tabled by the opposition, made up of the PSOE and Unidas por Extremadura.

The budgets include tax cuts worth 43.1 million euros. They also cut funds for international cooperation and migrant aid, while increasing allocations for bullfighting.

María Guardiola, president of the regional government, and Vox now maintain a relationship of harmony after the tensions that led to snap elections nine months ago. The budgets will have a short lifespan and new accounts will be negotiated in the autumn.
