Manon Reja Neer wins Spectrum Bangladesh Chess National Cup; prizes awarded

International Master Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Navy won the Spectrum Bangladesh Chess National Cup, with the prize distribution ceremony held on March 4, 2026, at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall in Dhaka. Bangladesh Chess Federation president Syed Sujauddin Ahmed presented awards to winners of the 32-player knockout final, following qualifying rounds in January and a knockout stage starting February 16.

The Spectrum Bangladesh Chess National Cup concluded with a prize ceremony at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall, attended by BCF president Syed Sujauddin Ahmed and joint secretary Lokeman Hossain Mollah.

IM Manon Reja Neer (Bangladesh Navy) took the title and 100,000 Taka. Runner-up IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman (Sonargaon University) received 50,000 Taka.

Semifinalists IM Md. Minhaz Uddin (Bangladesh Navy) and FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia (Bangladesh Ansar) each earned 25,000 Taka.

Quarterfinalists or equivalent: IM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Subrota Biswas (Dhaka University), FM Mohammad Javed (Bangladesh Navy), and FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman each got 10,000 Taka.

Next tier (8 players, 5,000 Taka each): FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, FM Khandaker Aminul Islam, Ananta Choudhury, Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan, CM Sohel Chowdhury, CM Avik Sarker, CM Md. Masum Hossain.

Remaining 17 players, including FM Nayem Haque, FM Mehedi Hasan Parag, CM Md. Sajidul Haque, and various Candidate Masters and Women FIDE Masters, received 3,000 Taka each.

The event, organized by the BCF with Spectrum Engineering Consortium patronage, showcased Bangladesh's chess talent across military, university, and other teams.
