Calgary Wranglers forward Rory Kerins has been selected as the Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending April 5. He tallied three goals and four assists in two games against the Laval Rocket. The announcement came from Springfield, Massachusetts.
The American Hockey League announced the honor for the 23-year-old forward from Caledon, Ontario. Last week, Kerins contributed to seven of Calgary's eight goals during a two-game series in Laval, the North Division leaders. On Friday, he scored twice and added two assists in the second period of a 5-2 victory. The next night, he netted another goal and two assists as the Wranglers rallied for a point in a 4-3 shootout loss. Kerins returned to the lineup on March 29 after missing over a month with an injury. This season, he has 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points in 53 games, including 16 points over his last eight outings. In his AHL career, spanning 180 games with Calgary and Stockton, Kerins has 71 goals and 77 assists for 148 points. He was an AHL All-Star in 2025 and a sixth-round pick by Calgary in the 2020 NHL Draft. Kerins has four assists in seven career NHL games with the Flames, two this season.
