Samsung Electronics announced on Thursday, March 5, 2026, that its latest premium smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, has won the "Best in Show" award at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 underway in Spain. The Global Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), the organizer of MWC, granted the award to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, unveiled last week, for its "seamless blend" of advanced hardware and software, according to a release from the Korean tech giant.
The premium Ultra edition features the industry's first built-in privacy display, along with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, which boasts a 39 percent improvement in neural processing unit performance compared with its predecessor. Samsung recently showcased the three new Galaxy S26 models at the event.
"The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra stood out for pushing the boundaries of mobile technology while delivering meaningful, real-world impact," Shaun Collins, chair of the judges for the award, was quoted as saying by Samsung. "In particular, its privacy innovation addresses one of the most important needs of today's digital lifestyle, security, personal space and trust."
The award was presented during MWC 2026 in Barcelona on Wednesday local time. Choi Seung-eun, executive vice president and head of the Marketing Center for the Mobile Experience Division at Samsung Electronics, posed with GSMA CEO John Hoffman after receiving the honor. GSMA holds the Global Mobile Awards on the sidelines of MWC to recognize the most innovative products in the mobile industry.
