The São Paulo state government announced on Sunday (5) a R$ 50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Hércules da Costa Siqueira, the suspect in the June 27 shooting of ROTA lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel dos Santos.
The administration of Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos) announced the reward after the Civil Police identified the shooter as Hércules da Costa Siqueira, known as Golias or Peruca. He has a temporary arrest warrant and remains at large. Tips can be reported to the 181 hotline.
The 39-year-old lieutenant remains hospitalized in serious condition at Hospital Estadual Mário Covas in Santo André after being shot in the head while stopped at a traffic light on Avenida Goiás in São Caetano do Sul. Investigations indicate at least five people were involved, using a motorcycle and support vehicles, including a white Renault Logan monitored since February.
Two men were arrested for indirect involvement. Three suspects died in ROTA operations between June 29 and July 2. Documents show the attack was planned against the officer, brother of Eloá Pimentel, who was killed in 2008.
