Sookie Stackhouse series marks 25 years since debut

The Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris reached their 25th anniversary this month.

The first book, Dead Until Dark, was published in May 2001 and launched the Southern Vampire Mysteries series. It later inspired the HBO show True Blood, which starred Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård, and Carrie Preston.
