South Africa advance to T20 World Cup semifinals

South Africa beat Bangladesh by four wickets at Lord's to reach the semifinals of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Australia’s win over India confirmed the Proteas' spot in the last four.

South Africa scored 118 for 6 to defeat Bangladesh's 117 for 5 on Sunday at Lord's in London. Annerie Dercksen top-scored with 45 while Nonkululeko Mlaba took 2 for 22.

The win placed South Africa second in Group 1. Australia then beat India by six wickets to seal the semifinal qualification.

Laura Wolvaardt said the chase lacked fluency. Marizanne Kapp noted it was a scrappy but necessary victory.

The Proteas will face England in the semifinal at The Oval on Thursday.
