Single Release and Theme

Spencer Mackenzie, a Maple Blues Award winner from Southern Ontario, dropped 'Frozen Hearts' as the latest preview of his new project. The song draws from themes of grief and resilience, honoring the children affected by residential schools. Mackenzie described it as a 'personal tribute,' noting, 'Emerging from the depths of grief and resilience, I wrote Frozen Hearts... ensuring that the voices of those who never made it home are forever heard.' He further explained the emotional process: 'Writing Frozen Hearts meant confronting the painful legacy of children taken from their families... This song is my promise to remember them – with love, respect and truth.'

The single features searing guitar riffs, soulful vocals, and a rhythm blending sorrow with defiance, capturing the raw essence of blues-rock.
