The San Antonio Spurs routed the Minnesota Timberwolves 126-97 in Game 5 on Tuesday to grab a 3-2 advantage in their Western Conference semifinal series. Victor Wembanyama led the way with 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and three blocks. The win puts San Antonio one victory away from a conference finals matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Wembanyama dominated on both ends of the floor in the victory. Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards acknowledged the impact, saying, 'I mean, tonight, some of the stuff Wemby was doing, you don't really have an answer for it.' In nine playoff games, Wembanyama is averaging 20.4 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.2 blocks while shooting 53.8 percent from the field.
