Tarun Fizer signs with Södertälje after ECHL title

Tarun Fizer has officially joined Södertälje SK of the HockeyAllsvenskan. The 25-year-old forward arrives after winning the ECHL championship with the Florida Everblades.

Södertälje announced the signing on June 19. Fizer will wear number 8 and is expected to play as a winger.

The right-shot center from Alberta recorded 22 goals and 41 points in 55 regular-season games last year. He added nine playoff points in 12 games while posting a plus-26 rating.

Fizer spent four seasons in North American professional hockey with affiliates of the Ottawa Senators and St. Louis Blues. Limited AHL time this season prompted his move to Europe.

Earlier reports indicated interest from Leksand, Modo and Finnish club Pelicans before Södertälje secured the player.
