The school drama series 'Teach You a Lesson' has debuted at No. 1 on Netflix's weekly non-English show chart. Released last Friday, the series garnered 6.4 million views in its first week.
Netflix said Wednesday that the series ranked in the top 10 in 48 countries and regions, including South Korea, Singapore, Turkey and Egypt. The show is based on the webtoon 'Get Schooled.' It follows inspectors at the fictional Education Rights Protection Bureau who tackle school bullies. Education Minister Choi Gang-seok, played by Lee Sung-min, states the bureau exists 'not to fight students but to fight monsters.' The cast includes Kim Mu-yeol, Jin Ki-joo and Pyo Ji-hoon, also known as P.O. of K-pop boy group Block B. Other Korean titles also performed well. 'My Royal Nemesis' ranked second, 'The Wonderfools' came fourth and 'Sold Out on You' placed ninth. The variety show 'Jae-seok's B&B Rules!' reached No. 10.
