Ten SHL players still without contracts for 2026/27 season

Several prominent players from the Swedish Hockey League remain unsigned as the 2026/27 season approaches. Hockeynews published a list of ten such athletes on June 21.

The list includes forwards and defensemen who competed in the SHL during the previous campaign. Jack Kopacka, 28, last played for Brynäs IF and has discussed possible options including a return to North America.

Nick Shore, 33, was released by Linköping HC after two seasons. Recent reports indicate the club may reconsider his departure.

Other players on the list are Oliver Kylington from Djurgårdens IF, Linus Weissbach from Frölunda HC, Paul LaDue from Rögle BK, Axel Rindell and Joona Luoto from HV71, David Quenneville from Örebro HK, Luke Philp from Färjestad BK, and Robin Kovacs from Linköping HC.

Kovacs, who had his best SHL season statistically, is reportedly in talks with AIK after an earlier agreement stalled. Weissbach has been linked to an offer from SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL.
