The Maccabees have indicated they are working toward a new studio album. The London band shared the update during a recent Radio X interview while on their summer tour.
Frontman Orlando Weeks said the group now has new songs after an eight-year break from performing together. He noted that debuting material live marks a significant step forward from last year, when they had nothing ready.
Guitarist Hugo White added that including fresh tracks in the setlist has offered a glimpse of what lies ahead. Weeks described the goal as making the songs strong enough to release as a full album.
The band wrapped its UK headline run at Leeds Kirkstall Abbey on July 31. Earlier updates from the group pointed to possible new music emerging in 2026.
